Beverly’s Balcony

This is a site richly illustrated with fairy tale new age women (by Jonathan Earl Bowser). It definitely has a feminine and magical air to it. It was started back in 2001.

The story section contains several longer TG short stories as well as series like Darkside’s Fury Saga, and the Tuck Saga .

There is not a large amount of fiction here, but the site also covers other areas, like music, online games and art.

The updates are infrequent. The last one I found was August 2008.

Donnie’s World

Many of you must have noticed the increasing number of “New School” caption based blogs popping up these days.

Donnie’s World is in many ways the precursor of them all. Using old-fashioned HTML he has put up a large collection of what I would call traditional TG captions, i.e. an image illustrating a scene, a tableau or a fantasy describing a male to female transformation.

The site was down for a while, but he is now in process of reestablishing it, sorting the pictures into categories named after popular TG fiction universes like Altered Fates and Bikini Beach, and transformation techniques like Bodyswitcher and Brother/sister.

The home page is chaotic and the cap design is traditional, but there are a lot of great ideas here as well as a large number of high quality pictures.

The site is now down, but I found the following info on Rachel’s Haven dated April 2009:

Shapeshifter transgender stories

There are many ways of looking at transgender fiction.

One is to see at least parts of it as a sub-genre under the broader term “shapeshifting stories”. People are changed into all kinds of creature online, male-to-female and female-to-male being walks in the park in this context.

Shifti is a site devoted to shapeshifter fiction. They use the same software as the Wikipedia, which actually works well for organizing short stories for online publication.

You may sort stories by author, setting and type of transformation. There is also a mailing list (based on the older transformer story community) and a writer’s school.

The site has its own category for transgender stories, which contains quite a few works of fiction. Do take a look!

Sapphire’s Place for transgender stories

All right, Sapphire’s Place is a little bit long in the tooth. The design is very nineties and some of the links are dead.

Still, even if it is the “Net’s oldest TG fiction site”, it is very much alive. It is updated regularly with new stories and contains an archive brimming with great TG stories. And that is what matters here!

The site contains the complete works of Eddie Glover, Stephanie, Christopher Leeson, Waldo, Raven, Steve Zink, Wendy, George Martin, Lorna Samuels, Sarah Barndt, Lorraine B., Marina Twelve, and Dawn DeWinter. And if these names does not mean anything to you, now may be the time to learn to know them.

Elrod’s – the home of the Bikini Beach Universe

This site has now been closed down. Most of the stories can be found over at Fictionmania.com.

Behind the utterly bland design of “Elrod’s Home” (no pictures, no colors, no nothing) hides the home of one of the most popular universes in TG fiction history. And by a universe I means a coherent setting for stories written by many authors.

In the Bikini Beach universe men visiting a local women’s beach soon find out that it truly is a beach for women only!

The site hasn’t been updated in ages, but it still belongs in TFCC because of the many great stories it contains.

Beside the stories, there are presentations of the main characters of the universe and Bikini TG captions.

But that is not all! Here you also find stories in the MAU series (that is the alien Morphic Adaptation Unit for the non-engineers among you). If you want to write a MAU story of your own, you will find the rule book here.

Joe Six Pack – the manly TG site

I like the design of this site: simplistic, but clear and expressive. It is easy to navigate too.

At the core of the site you find Joe’s TG stories, some of the illustrated. There is a (not too active) discussion board and a well equipped link section.

Some would also be interested in knowing that Joe has reformatted some of his favorite stories found on the Usenet (a stone age kind of discussion forums and published them on his site. Look under the Archive tab.

Nifty transgender stories

The Nifty Erotic Stories Archive is a directory of sexually-explicit, erotic stories involving alternative sexualities — as the editors say: “gay fiction”. Whether TG fiction is “gay fiction” requires a long debate we will not go into here.

What is important is that Nifty has a separate TG fiction section covering a large number of themes:

Joe Bates Saga – The chapters of the Joe Bates Saga (a rather long story).
Magic & Science Fiction – Stories in which the change or setting is a magical, SF related or use actual not possible devices.
Authoritarian – Stories involving Bondage and S&M.
Chemical – Stories using chemicals, hormones.
College – Stories in which the main character is in the age of a college student or a college setting.
Control – Stories which dealt with control, but do not fit into Mind-control or Authoritarian.
Highschool – Stories in which the main character is a highschool pupil or at the age of one.
Mind-control – Stories which temper with the mind of the main character of any sort.
Shemale – Stories in which a pre-op transexual is the main character or the the main character is changed into one.
Surgery – Stories which involved any kind of surgery to change the main character.
Teen – Stories in which the main character is in the age of a teenager.
TV – All stories which handle a change in the clothing. This also include crossdressing.
Young Friends – Stories in which the main charcter is below the age of a teenager.

TG Captions UK

In a very US dominated TG fiction world, it is great to see that the Empire holds stand.

Joanna runs a “new school” TG blog presenting a wide variety of TG caps, including mock up comic book covers.

Joanne sticks, as far as I can see, to the softcore side of TG captioning.

UPDATE JUNE 2009:

The old blog is still there, but due to bandwidth problems it is no longer updated. Instead Joanna has started a new TG caption blog over at WordPress where she continues to post creative and entertaining caps.

TG Comics

TG Comics is the most professionally designed site in the history of TG fiction.

What is even more important is that behind that elegant facade there are a large number of great TG comics, hand drawn as well as computer animated.

Moreover, if you look around you will also find photo stories, mock up comic book covers and more.

While you are there: Take a look at the links section! It is one of the most comprehensive and extensive on the Web.

Transgender caption discussion forums

The two major discussion forums for TG captioning — i.e. the art of combining erotic photos and drawings with ultra-short stories — are Rachel’s Haven and A Bimbo’s Sanctuary.

Which one is best is a matter of taste. It is a kind of Pepsi/Coca Cola thing, really, although some may possibly say that A Bimbo’s Sanctuary (also known as Feeling Femme) has a larger percentage of bimbos on board. (“Bimbo” is here considered a good thing!)

Both forums asks you to sign of for a free membership before you can post messages. In order to get access to the caption galleries, you will have to post a certain number of posts. That is not too hard, in any case. On Rachel’s Haven a lot of caps are also posted outside the gallery, for everyone to see.

The forums also have categories for other types of discussions, including recommended sites and videos and transgender issues.

Really, you should explore them both!
